I’m a talented and multi-disciplined reporter, telling stories across all mediums. Whether short-form or feature-length, visual or written, I create thought-provoking and insightful pieces for all audiences.
I began my journey in the BCIT Broadcast and Online Journalism program in 2024. I’ve grown immensely as a reporter since then, but more so as a storyteller. This passion has developed from a professional opportunity into an all-encompassing way of life. I’ve hard-wired myself to constantly seek out interesting people with stories to tell, to the point where ordinary conversation between strangers can become a ‘tell-all’ interview.
My expertise is in making anyone feel comfortable talking openly and candidly, allowing them the space to be authentic and personable. I build meaningful relationships with interviewees, creating an atmosphere where they can express the depth and complexity of their feelings on any given topic.
I approach journalism from a creative writing background, giving me a unique perspective on how I formulate my stories. There is art in every aspect of life, and my reporting paints vivid and revealing pictures of every story I tell. I relish any opportunity to build the story around the consumer, finding powerful emotions to guide the reader through the narrative as if they were in the story themselves.
My favourite pieces are driven by people who can’t speak for themselves, voices underrepresented by the media. Those interests naturally lead me to the Downtown Eastside and environmental groups, or anyone else who feels powerless against the system that governs them.
In my spare time, I write creatively and read poetry books. I spend a lot of time staying active, whether hiking, cycling, or running. You can often find me in East Van bars, talking and sipping on a beer. Please explore my website and reach out if you’re interested in working with me!
